Lily's journey

Lily, a rambunctious yet anxious Romanian Rescue, was highly reactive to other dogs and was in need of an activity to do in a safe environment, which would boost her confidence and give her an outlet for her natural behaviours.

“We started K-9 scent training with Raychel around a year after adopting our large and "spirited" Romanian Rescue, Lily, as we felt that giving her a job to do might help with her reactivity. Raychel has been absolutely brilliant with Lily from the start, helping us with both positive reward tips and scent training. Lily is completely besotted with her too and is already much more confident and engaging with us when outside. We've still got a long road with Lily's training but would like to say a big thank you to Raychel for always remaining supportive, cool, collected and patient no matter the situation. We look forward to our Monday afternoon sessions every other week. Would 100% recommend booking a session with Raychel to anyone who is looking for behaviour or scent training advice.”

 FAQs

  • Absolutely! Our 1:1 training sessions involve you, the owner, as an active participant. I believe in empowering dog owners to be involved in the training process, as it strengthens the bond between you and your dog and promotes consistent communication.

  • Cloves, but you do not need to worry about bringing any scented items with you on your first lesson

  • I use positive reinforcement techniques, focusing on rewarding desired behaviours rather than punishing unwanted ones. This approach ensures a safe and enjoyable learning environment for your dog and promotes long-term behavioural changes.

  • Non-crumbly treats (chicken, sausage, liver etc), long line, comfortable harness, water bowl & water, favourite toy(s), mat for dog to settle on

  • Yes, depending on the issue you are experiencing with your dog a behaviour support package may be a best route.

1-1 sessions are suitable for reactive dogs.
