Compassionate approach to managing separation anxiety in dogs
Helping your furry friend feel secure and comfortable when you're not at home.
Understanding Canine Separation Anxiety
Separation anxiety is a common but distressing condition affecting many dogs. It manifests through behaviours such as excessive barking, destructive chewing, and pacing when they are left alone. I understand how heart-wrenching and challenging it can be to see your beloved pet in distress and my mission is to provide you with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to help your furry friend overcome anxiety and lead a happier, calmer life.

Raychel is extremely knowledgeable and clearly feels passionate about her subject. She helped me enormously with our 2 year old cockapoo on a range of anxiety issues (including separation anxiety).
Raychel always explained the rationale behind the strategies she recommended and demonstrated them which was beyond helpful.
Her calm, gentle and patient manner was reassuring and encouraging. Not only do I now understand Ziggy’s behaviour but I feel confident in knowing how to meet his needs and make life as less anxious as I can for him . Ziggy is much calmer and more confident and life is better for not only for Ziggy but all the family due to Raychel’s support and guidance”

FAQs
-
When your dog is displaying anxiety on separation, a behaviour support package is more appropriate to address this. Raychel has devised 'Behaviour Packages' that involve an in-depth assessment of your dog in order to provide you with the best possible advice. Behaviour issues can be complex and need a more in-depth approach.
The training packages are less in depth and only suitable for training issues (things you want your dog to do) such as loose lead walking, recall, to focus on you etc would be one of the training packages, either in one, three or six sessions.
-
Consultations with Raychel require a veterinary referral. Your vet will first need to rule out any underlying medical conditions that may be affecting your dog’s or cat's behaviour. This process is in line with the Veterinary Surgeons Act and the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors code of conduct. ANY qualified behaviourist that you contact should adhere to this practice.

Whilst I cannot guarantee specific results, my training programmes are designed to achieve positive changes. I can’t wait to give you the support and guidance you need, to help you and your dog succeed.
-
I use positive reinforcement techniques, focusing on rewarding desired behaviours rather than punishing unwanted ones. This approach ensures a safe and enjoyable learning environment for your dog and promotes long-term behavioural changes.

In the behaviour packages (bronze, silver, gold) your initial consultation will be two to three hours long. The first half will be an in-depth discussion about your dog, their background, behaviour presentations and then motivations. Understanding your dog is important for you to be able to embark on your behaviour modification journey as a team.
The second half of the consultation is practical - training cues that are going to be useful in your dogs rehabilitation, along with your plan
Note: The mini consultation/ assessment package is a maximum two hours (suitable for less complex issues) so if you would prefer more practical or time in your session, it is recommended to go for a full consultation.
